Amnesia is back and scarier than ever.
Speaking of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, surely we cannot forget a horror game – a puzzle where players are not able to fight back but flee to escape the threats from darkness and hallucination. A decade later, Frictional Games brought Amnesia back under the name Rebirth as the next sequel to The Dark Descent.
Currently, Frictional Games hasn’t shared any details about the exact release date for Amnesia: Rebirth. However, the game is expected to be released at the same time as The Dark Descent, which means around the fall of 2020.
Although set in the world of The Dark Descent, Amnesia: Rebirth will revolve around a new protagonist and a new storyline. Players will star as Tasi Trianon, who regains consciousness amid Algerian desert after a concussion that appears to be a plane crash. As the name suggests, Tasi does not remember how she is there. Her mission is to find a way to recover her memories and try to string them up, while still having to fight with the terrors come from the world she is no familiarity with.
Akin to the first game, Amnesia: Rebirth will be able to be placed at a First-person perspective. When Tasi explores the world, she will enter many different places both on earth and in a world of another dimension and have to handle abundant riddles. The game still allows players to manage physical and mental factors with several mechanisms to stay conscious. Many players expect Rebirth’s gameplay to be less of jumpscares to create truly horrifying creatures. In the trailer, in addition to entering a new space, there are some dark humanoid creatures that can be seen as enemies of the player. However, we have to wait for more developer revelations to see if Tasi faces other dangers other than monsters.
According to Steam, the developer has proposed a minimum configuration for this game.
