As stated in the new report of Research Snipers, Apple’s unreleased A14 chip could be the first Arm-based mobile processor to exceed 3GHz.

Apple’s A14 processor, the successor to the A13 chip found in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, is expected to launch this fall in new iPhones 12’s model.

Apple’s A14 chip is likely to be the first mobile processor to exceed 3GHz

The report revealed the A14 chip appears on Geekbench performance measurement software, with a frequency reaching 3.1GHz. Meanwhile, Apple’s current A13 Bionic chip has a frequency of 2.7GHz.

With such a significant frequency, the performance score of the A14 chip is also impressive. According to Geekbench software, the single-core performance score of the A14 chip reaches 1,658 (25% higher than the A13), and the multi-core score reaches 4,612 (33% higher than the A13).

TSMC is expected to begin mass production of A14 chipsets based on Apple’s 5nm process, in early April this year.
