Assassin’s Creed II is the second installment of the popular Assassin’s Creed game series, developed in 2009 by Ubisoft Montreal and released by famous game publisher Ubisoft Entertainment on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It is also considered the first landmark version to bring Assassin’s Creed series to a new level, putting a firm g for later releases. Assassin’s Creed 2’s success was owing to the opening of an extremely attractive, intriguing storyline built extremely detailed and skillfully integrated with the true events of the Italian Renaissance.
In Part 1, Desmond Miles, the protagonist of the game is an ancient Assassin is being held captive by Abstergo Industries, the incarnation of the current Templar. and is being forced to use the Animus machine to evoke memories of his ancestor, Altair Ibn-La’Ahad, to assist Abstergo in finding the location of the Treasures collectively known as Pieces of Eden, which helps its owner to control the world if collected enough.
A few hours after the events of Assassin’s Creed I, the story continues when Desmond was trying to understand the mysterious messages in the room he was captured in, Lucy Stillman who was covered in blood quickly pulled Desmond out of the room out of the blue. Then, Lucy sought to copy the data of Desmond’s memories in the Animus, and along with Desmond, they escaped from Abstergo’s headquarters to a Safe Zone, where Lucy and two other modern Assassins, Shaun Hastings and Rebecca Crane, had set up their operations base.
As it turns out, Lucy is also another modern Assassin. She helps Desmond escape from the Abstergo corporation and asks him to use their new invention, Animus version 2.0, to remind him of the memories of Ancient assassins to seek Pieces of Eden before the Abstergo Corporation can acquire them. But this time, Desmond isn’t assassin Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad anymore, but instead is a young Italian assassin named Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
