It’s no surprise that Final Fantasy 7 Remake‘s sales have taken the UK’s chart like a storm.
Fans have been patiently waiting for Final Fantasy 7 Remake since the game was first announced by Sony at E3 2015. And now when it’s officially released, obviously it has met the community’s expectations and received praise from both critics and the gaming community. And these positive reviews are turning into strong sales of Final Fantasy 7 Remake when the game topped the UK sales chart last week. GfK released a list of the top 10 best-selling games in the UK for the week of April 6 to 11, and it’s no surprise that Final Fantasy 7 Remake landed the first spot.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, Final Fantasy 7 Remake‘s sales has risen over 1 million boxed games in the UK since the start of the lockdown, rising to 1.5 million if you include the previous week and the launch of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
It was followed closely by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and the older games in the remaining positions. Interestingly, Grand Theft Auto 5 is still in the Top 10, despite the game’s first launch in 2013. Another notable name on the list is The Last of Us: Remastered. Last week, The Last of Us was still in 17th place, but it seems that its revenue has recently increased again, helping it reach 10th place. Probably, the delay of “The Last of Us 2” has contributed to this, yet it is only a prediction. It will be interesting to see how long Final Fantasy 7 Remake can last in the rankings, but based on popularity, it can take a long time. The game is currently released exclusively on PS4.
