The Mafia Remake may arrive on May 19.
Today, 2K announced Mafia Trilogy for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and promised that a bigger reveal is set to drop next week on May 19. The teaser video contains three main characters’ voices and in-game footage of Lincoln Clay and Vito Scaletta from chapter 2 and 3. However, some of the information was leaked out beforehand. And probably the most important detail is that while Mafia II and Mafia III will be remastered, the first title in the series is getting a full-blown remake and will be out this August.
This all came from the fact that Microsoft Store had let the cat out of the bag which went live with its listing for the game early. From the screenshots that appear on the Microsoft Store, the leaked information was confirmed since Mafia: Definitive Edtion will be a full-on remake. The release date will fall on August 27-28 this year.
As you would expect, the listing has since been removed, but not before the Internet gathered all of the pertinent information, including word that the game has been remade from the ground up.
“Part one of the Mafia crime saga—1930s, Lost Heaven, Illinois. Re-made from the ground up, rise through the ranks of the Mafia during the Prohibition era of organized crime,” reads an official pitch of the game. “After a run-in with the mob, cab driver Tommy Angelo is thrust into a deadly underworld. Initially uneasy about falling in with the Salieri crime family, Tommy soon finds that the rewards are too big to ignore.
In addition to revealing the above screenshots and release date, the listing also reveals that if you cop the game you will unlock Tommy’s Suit and Cab in both Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition.
It seems that an apparent release date for Mafia II: Definitive Edition is shown and chances are high that the game will be available on May 19, the same day that 2K Games promised with the fans. No price has been listed for either game yet.
