As reported by Deadline, Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker was supposed to release on March 17, became available for purchase Friday, March 13 instead.
Amid the Covid-19 strikes, although increasing numbers of films have been delayed, a handful of movies’ release still comes out early as millions of people are staying at home amid the outbreak. Rise of Skywalker isn’t the only release Disney is pushing forward. Disney also unexpectedly announced that Frozen 2 is coming to Disney+ a full three months ahead of its original release schedule.
Currently, Rise of Skywalker is available in HD for 19,9$ and in 4K Ultra HD for $24.9 The movie is still scheduled to be released on physical DVD and in 4k Ultra HD on Blu-ray on the original date March 31.
The ninth and final film in the main Star Wars saga has mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Overall, they still grossed more than $1 billion.
