The wait for more information on The Elder Scrolls 6 seems endless. Since the teaser trailer at E3 2018, it appears that it is very little about it has been revealed.
Answering a fan’s tweet asking for information about the next-gen game over the weekend, Bethesda senior VP of marketing and communication Pete Hines elucidated that news on the nebulous upcoming project Starfield will arrive before Elder Scrolls. Additionally, he said that fans should expect The Elder Scrolls 6 “years from now”.
Responding to the tweet, Hines wrote, “It’s after Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about. So if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations.”
Starfield is, of course, the other Bethesda Game Studios game that was teased in June 2018 at that year’s E3. We know very little about Starfield, too. We know it’s a “space epic” and the first new franchise in 25 years from the developers of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. But outside of a teaser trailer, official details are scant. On Twitter, Hines said we’d find out more about Starfield “someday.”
We knew that Starfield is another project of Bethesda Game Studios which was teased in June 2018 at E3. However, the information about the game is scarce apart alongside the teaser trailer. Little do we know that it’s a “space epic” and the first new franchise in 25 years from the developers of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. Hines said on Twitter that more news about Starfield will be dropped “someday”.
That is to say, it is readily apparent that we can’t expect any news of Starfield or The Elder Scrolls 6 this year as Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 games are in the headline of Microsoft and Sony Interactive Entertainment in the coming months, and a recent job listing for The Elder Scrolls 6 implies that development on the title has recently begun in earnest.
Bethesda Softworks’ currently announced lineup includes Deathloop from Arkane Studios and Ghostwire: Tokyo from Tango Gameworks, two other games still shrouded in mystery. Bethesda also has The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor expansion, coming later this month to PC and June 9 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Another Elder Scrolls game, the Elder Scrolls Blades, is also coming out of early access soon and to Nintendo Switch this spring.
